How secure is EA Install?
EA Install uses industry standard 128 bits Rijndael encryption to protect your files from unauthorized installation. One can't even peek on the file names, because they are also encrypted. The program also has an anti tampering mechanism; it will refuse to install if the installation file is altered even by a single byte.
Are my expert advisors still protected after installation?
EA Install is just an installer, it does protect your expert advisors from any illegal installation by unwanted party. After a legitimate successful installation, your expert advisors are no longer protected. It's up to you to implement security, for example by only distribute EX4 files or add additional protection using DLL calling.
Are the serial numbers stored in the installation file?
No. The serial numbers are not stored in the installation file. To validate a serial number entered by the user, EA Install uses MD5 one-way hashes. That is the MD5 hashes that are stored in the installation file. The hashes cannot be used as the serial numbers. They are also encrypted. So there is no a possible way one can peek on your serial numbers from the installation file.
Is there a royalty that I have to pay for each generated installation file?
No. There is no royalty. You can generate and distribute installers as much as you want.
How big is the generated installer?
The generated installer size varies depending on your expert advisors file size. In most cases, it is around 300 KB.
